How to make extension tax payment on April 15
- Go to IRS.gov/payments:
https://www.irs.gov/payments/pay-personal-taxes-from-your-bank-account
select Make a payment.
2. On the next screen, select Reason for Payment “Extension.” Then Click Continue
3. Verify Identity: After you click Continue, the next screen will require you to fill in the personal information. Follow the prompts and enter all the required information. NOTE: Enter prior tax years for “Tax Year for Verification”; e.g. 2023
After you finish making the payment, a confirmation will be displayed. Make sure to save or pdf the confirmation receipt, save it for your record, and share with us for tax preparation.
